“Telling stories for a living allows me to intertwine two things I love - meeting and learning about new people, and exploring the world.”
Isobel Ewing has worked as a journalist in print then subsequently television for ten years. The strength of her environmental reporting has been recognised with a national award in New Zealand. Over the years she has woven her love and care for the environment into her career, asking questions on behalf of nature and seeking out compelling human stories. Outside the newsroom Isobel can be found trail running, skiing and riding her bicycle.
In 2019 she cycled across Central Asia with her brother, Jack. Read about how she concocted this adventure here, and her blog posts here. Isobel worked as a broadcast journalist in Budapest, Hungary, then was Newshub’s Climate Correspondent, before the company’s closure prompted her to take four months bikepacking through India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Crete. She is now anchor for TRT World, based in Istanbul.
